What the published guidance says
UniSQ considers relevant prior study and experience for undergraduate or postgraduate credit. It identifies limits and currency requirements and offers a Credit Calculator for certain earlier study. The calculator is not a substitute for an individual experiential-learning assessment.
Make the learning history easy to follow
List the provider or setting, dates, learning content and whether an assessment took place. For informal learning, identify a concrete example and explain the knowledge gained. This gives a reviewer a clearer account than an unstructured list of roles and certificates.
If you use a credit calculator, record exactly what it compares. A result concerning a formal qualification should not be presented as an assessment of unrelated workplace learning. Ask what evidence and process apply where there is no existing match.
An example to think through
A learner with overseas university study and later employer training can keep the transcript separate from the training record. Practical work after both may show further development. Each part needs its own explanation before any decision about how it fits the intended degree.
This is an illustrative preparation example, not a past applicant’s story or an approved assessment outcome.
Three questions to take forward
Was the learning formally assessed, structured without an award or gained informally?
What exact earlier study does the calculator compare?
Which parts of my enquiry need an individual assessment?
Availability, costs and ToHave’s role
Requirements can change with the programme, subject, application date and your own evidence. Check the institution’s current information before relying on a route. Admission, academic credit, a complete qualification and professional registration are different decisions.
ToHave can help organise genuine evidence and support a suitable application where permitted. Our service fee is £100 GBP, payable at the end of the work. Any institution charges and agreed external costs are separate. Read the service conditions and costs. The institution decides the academic outcome; our support does not guarantee approval.
